Welcome to VEARDAY<\/p>\n
The two childhood friends from Fyn, Jakob Kirkel\u00f8kke and Christian J\u00f8rgensen, are releasing new music in collaboration with one of the country’s most sought-after keyboard players, Palle Hjorth, and guitarist and songwriter Karl Kristian.<\/p>\n
The unorthodox collaboration between the four musicians, each with very different career paths, can best be described as eclectic Danish pop with a clear popular appeal. Their debut single ‘HJEMVE’, released in May 2024, has already reached national airwaves on P4.
\nIn October, they released another single, ‘LYS P\u00c5’, and followed up in November\/December with the single ‘HOLD MIG T\u00c6T’ as well as the EP ‘LYKKERUS’<\/p>\n
In April 2025, V\u00c6RDAG will go on a release tour across Denmark with their debut album, which will be released in connection with the concert series.<\/p>\n
V\u00c6RDAG writes and records music in Palle\u2019s studio, located in the attic of a worn-down workshop hall in central Funen.
\nThe very same space is where Jakob and Christian spent most of their teenage years making music together.
\nThe band\u2019s name, V\u00c6RDAG, is inspired by the state of presence and connection that music creates.
\nTheir lyrical universe reflects the hectic everyday life that threatens love, friendships \u2014 and not least, a good night\u2019s sleep!<\/p>\n
The music has been created in collaboration with a number of well-known Danish musicians.
\nThe songs have been mixed by Thomas Alstrup from the band Jonah Blacksmith.
\nFor backing vocals, the band has teamed up with Anne Hjort \u2014 known for wrapping Steffen Brandt from TV-2 in the most beautiful harmonies.<\/p>\n

This April, we\u2019ll be joined by singer-songwriter Tobias Strandvig, also from Fyn.
\nTobias will perform a set of his own songs \u2014 poetic hugs, punches, tearjerkers, and tongue-twisters.
