The two childhood friends from Fyn, Jakob Kirkeløkke and Christian Jørgensen, are releasing new music in collaboration with one of the country’s most sought-after keyboard players, Palle Hjorth, and guitarist and songwriter Karl Kristian.
The unorthodox collaboration between the four musicians, each with very different career paths, can best be described as eclectic Danish pop with a clear popular appeal. Their debut single ‘HJEMVE’, released in May 2024, has already reached national airwaves on P4.
In October, they released another single, ‘LYS PÅ’, and followed up in November/December with the single ‘HOLD MIG TÆT’ as well as the EP ‘LYKKERUS’
In April 2025, VÆRDAG will go on a release tour across Denmark with their debut album, which will be released in connection with the concert series.
VÆRDAG writes and records music in Palle’s studio, located in the attic of a worn-down workshop hall in central Funen.
The very same space is where Jakob and Christian spent most of their teenage years making music together.
The band’s name, VÆRDAG, is inspired by the state of presence and connection that music creates.
Their lyrical universe reflects the hectic everyday life that threatens love, friendships — and not least, a good night’s sleep!
The music has been created in collaboration with a number of well-known Danish musicians.
The songs have been mixed by Thomas Alstrup from the band Jonah Blacksmith.
For backing vocals, the band has teamed up with Anne Hjort — known for wrapping Steffen Brandt from TV-2 in the most beautiful harmonies.

This April, we’ll be joined by singer-songwriter Tobias Strandvig, also from Fyn.
Tobias will perform a set of his own songs — poetic hugs, punches, tearjerkers, and tongue-twisters.
He sings about just about everything — and he does it in Danish.
