MOLDE NIELSEN play groovy folk about the sensuality of everyday life. The Danish-language songs spin lyrical threads between concrete life stories and man’s relationship to the nature that surrounds us and of which we are all a part.
Maria Molde’s luminous voice has been compared to Alison Krauss and Alberte, and her acoustic mandolins give the songs their very own crisp character. With his stringless bass and acoustic guitar, Morten Nielsen creates an atmospheric, personal and solid, swinging musical backdrop for Maria’s songs.
MOLDE NIELSEN form a couple privately and after many years of parallel musical careers, they have now come together in a joint duo project. Maria’s songs, which many will know from the string band MOLDE, are given new life by Morten’s intimate arrangements, and their voices merge as is only possible when you have sung together for endless hours.
